Responsible for the strategy and responsible application of
artificial intelligence (AI) enterprise wide. Leads a team of data
scientists and statisticians who are responsible for evaluating,
creating, monitoring, and consulting on AI solutions and program
evaluation, and closely collaborates and coordinates with business
intelligence analysts and architects to efficiently access data.
Acts as subject matter expert and facilitator for Enterprise
Artificial Intelligence Governance Committee. Routinely interacts
with senior executives, clinical leaders, and vendor
executives.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops data science strategies that ensure an enterprise
approach to artificial intelligence (AI) and applied advanced
analytics. Plans and directs development, maintenance, and
acquisition of AI solutions, within the governance guidelines of
responsible AI throughout the enterprise.
- Investigates and rigorously evaluates new technology options in
anticipation of future data, information, and reporting needs.
Identifies and evaluates potential new revenue streams generated by
analytic and measurement innovations developed in-house. Presents
work and innovations at industry conferences and meetings.
- Facilitates the cross-functional executive AI governance
committee, including raising topics for guidance, issue escalation,
and new developments in AI.
- Guides the development and oversight of data platforms to
support AI and advanced analytic computing. Facilitates and manages
collaboration between clinical/business and analytics resources to
deploy AI solutions consistent with clinical and business workflow
needs.
- Accountable for budgeting and management of expenses related to
cloud computing and statistical tools.
- Serves as expert consultant regarding content and methods to
both internal and external contacts, including executive leaders,
on data science techniques, results interpretation, and impact on
operations. Communicates effectively with both internal and
external clients, explains complex statistical and AI methods and
links results to operational objectives and strategic enterprise
initiatives.
- Establishes the strategy to gauge the success of the business
unit, in alignment with organizational goals. Ensures that
resources and processes enable the successful achievement of
enterprise-level imperatives and business unit integration
efforts.
- Executes and establishes processes for effective data
governance, congruent with enterprise guidelines and
directives.
- Researches and stays updated on new developments related to
artificial intelligence solutions and technology, identifies risks
and benefits of the emerging technology and potential enterprise
impact.
- Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which
include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions,
staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes,
resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations,
and overall employee morale.
- Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and
controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to the
organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that
personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply
with the policies, regulations, and laws applicable to the
organization's business. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED
Level of Education: Master's degree or PhD in Data science,
statistics, math, or other related field requiring advanced
analytics.
Years of Experience: Typically requires 10 years of experience,
with 5 years of management experience leading data science,
statistical/analytic teams and multi-disciplinary work teams.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Excellent presentation and writing skills.
- Ability to think strategically and innovatively and translate
to realistic plans, projects, and collaborations.
- Extensive experience solving analytics problems using
artificial intelligence methods, including machine learning and
natural language processing. Extensive experience working with
large data sets, manipulating, and analyzing complex, high-volume,
high dimensional data from varying sources.
- Ability to build collaborative working relationships, strong
abilities in relationship management. Effective team leadership
skills with demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary, high
performance work teams and development groups, demonstrated
competency in the execution of multiple projects, including
managing resources to meet goals.
- Demonstrate self-directed, results oriented and creative
approach to projects and solutions. Desire to listen and learn with
significant intellectual curiosity.
- Knowledge and experience with cloud computing platforms.
- Knowledge of the risks of artificial intelligence as applied to
health care.
- Demonstrate strong ability to develop efficient and effective
solutions to diverse and complex business problems; results
oriented and creative approach to projects.
This is a remote role with travel as needed within the
enterprise.
