Client DetailsMy client is an $14 billion-dollar, Fortune 500 organization that is an established industry leader within the manufacturing industry. My client has been in business for more than 100 years with over 50 operating entities, with many of those based here in Illinois along with the Corporate HQ! My client is looking for a Senior Accountant to join the team in their Packaging Division. The ideal Senior Accountant will be someone who is looking to find a long-term home within an organization where you can continue to grow and develop as a professional. You will work directly with the Accounting Manager and US Controller that will offer you mentorship and exposure to the greater business and you continue to sharpen your skillset.   • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial activities.
  • Journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations to maintain compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of inventory accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory balances, collaborating with warehouse and procurement teams as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, including acquisition costs, depreciation expenses, and disposal transactions.
  • Reconcile fixed asset subledger balances to the general ledger on a regular basis.
  • Assist with Accounts Receivable when needed including contacting customers to facilitate timely payment and resolve payment discrepancies, applying customer payments accurately and promptly to outstanding invoices in the accounting system, monitoring accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on past due invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, improve efficiency, and enhance controls.Profile
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    • 3+ years of experience in accounting
    • Manufacturing industry is a must!
    • Fixed asset experience is a must!
    • Inventory experience highly preferred
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and Word
    • Strong business communication and analytical skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.Job Offer
