This executive will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the long-term financial stability, transparency, and operational excellence of a non-profit organization. The CFO will oversee all financial functions, including budgeting, accounting, treasury, procurement, grants management, financial reporting, and long-range financial planning. This role serves as a key advisor to senior leadership and governing bodies, balancing fiscal stewardship with equity and outcomes. This is a high-impact opportunity for a seasoned financial executive who thrives in complex, highly regulated environments and is motivated by public service. Perform other duties as assigned. Experience Requirements: Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive financial leadership experience At least 5–7 years in a senior executive role (CFO, Deputy CFO, or equivalent) Demonstrated experience overseeing large, complex budgets (e.g., $1B preferred) Proven track record in financial planning, audit management, and compliance Experience presenting to boards, governing bodies, or public officials Lead enterprise-wide financial strategy, budgeting, and forecasting Oversee multi-billion-dollar operating and capital budgets Ensure compliance with public finance, audit, and reporting standards Advise executive leadership on financial risks, opportunities, and sustainability Manage and develop senior finance leaders and cross-functional teams Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including government entities Experience Preferences: Experience in public sector, education, government, or nonprofit organizations Familiarity with public finance regulations, bond financing, and grants management Experience leading finance in unionized or highly regulated environments Background showing commitment to equity, transparency, and public accountability Experience managing change in large, matrixed organizations Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a professional office environment Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer Occasional local travel to meetings or administrative sites Ability to attend extended meetings and public forums as required Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field/equivalent work experience.
