on site in the specified locations. Schwab Asset Management (SAM)
is the asset management arm of the Charles Schwab Corporation. SAM
delivers a wide variety of products including mutual funds,
exchange-traded funds (ETFs), money market funds, collective
investment trusts (CITs), and Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs).
The overall SAM team embodies our firm’s commitment to providing
client-centric solutions that help Schwab clients achieve their
financial goals. It is the goal of the SAM Fund Services team to
actively contribute to the success of our proprietary mutual funds
and ETFs, and bank collective trust funds. The Manager position
within Fund Services will play an important role in the day-to-day
oversight of custody operations. The Manager will also be an
integral part of the broader organization by not only ensuring
accuracy of work, but also through open communication and
collaboration within a dynamic team. This will be an individual
contributor role and will report to a Senior Manager People Leader
on the team. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited
to: o Preparation, review, and coordination of global market
documentation and account opening requirements for 40 Act mutual
funds and ETFs, ensuring documentation meets regulatory and
market-specific requirements and collaborating closely with global
custodians and internal stakeholders. o Submit, track, and maintain
various global market forms, including tax reclaim forms, Power of
Attorney documentation, and required market documentation, ensuring
compliance with evolving market regulations. o Monitor global
market updates daily and assess applicability across funds,
proactively communicating impacts to Portfolio Managers, Traders,
Middle Office, Fund Accounting, Tax, and Valuation teams. o
Facilitate and maintain third party Repurchase Agreement
onboarding, documentation reviews, annual counterparty reviews, and
recurring meetings, helping support liquidity management
activities. o Research and resolve reconciliation breaks, failed
trades, and corporate action discrepancies, partnering with
custodians to ensure timely resolution and accurate reporting. o
Oversee substantial ownership monitoring and reporting for Schwab
funds, ETFs, and SMAs with a focus on precision, risk mitigation,
and adherence to regulatory obligations. o Support fund liquidity,
TMPG, and ETF collateral oversight, ensuring controls are followed
and documentation remains audit ready. o Manage proxy voting
reporting oversight and related regulatory filings, ensuring
timeliness and accuracy. What you have Required Qualifications: o
Bachelor’s degree required (Degree in Business, Finance, or
Economics highly preferred). o 3–5 years of experience within the
Financial Services industry o Knowledge of mutual funds and
Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) Fund Accounting and/or Custody
experience o Experience with global market account documentation
for 40 Act funds and/or Collective Investment Trusts o Proven
ability to interpret evolving global market documentation
regulations, standards, and market requirements, with strong risk
awareness and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: o
Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance competing
priorities in adherence to strict timeframes and deadlines. o
Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with ability to resolve
issues, and recommend process improvements. o Proven verbal
communication and presentation skills and ability to interact with
all levels in the SAM Fund Administration teams and with other
external/internal partners. o Impeccable attention to detail. o
Drive and skill set to identify areas of opportunity and streamline
or automate existing workflows. o Ability to work independently and
with a team on executing risk and control oversight of internal and
vendor processes, while ensuring deadlines are met, data is
accurate, and the end-product adds value. o Willingness to think
outside the box and challenge assumptions in the spirit of creating
efficiencies.
