Job Description:
Job Description Job Description Do You Think in Microns? If
turning complex GD&T into elegant CMM routines is your craft,
you’ll thrive here. Our aerospace manufacturing team needs a
seasoned CMM professional to ensure every high-tolerance machined
component conforms to customer, industry, and regulatory
expectations. Imagine This A tight-deadline first article lands on
your desk: intricate geometry, demanding datum schemes, and a tough
positional tolerance. You design a measurement strategy in PC-DMIS
or Calypso, validate alignments, run the program, and deliver a
clean, traceable report. Production asks for help on an in-process
hold—you analyze data, pinpoint the deviation, update the program,
and support corrective action. Later, you verify CMM calibration
and prep objective evidence for an upcoming customer audit. That’s
impact. Your Responsibilities Program, validate, and execute CMM
inspections for aerospace components. Translate engineering
drawings, models, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5) into robust measurement
plans. Conduct first article (including FAIRs), in-process, and
final inspections with complete documentation. Analyze results,
report findings, and support root cause analysis and corrective
actions on nonconformances. Partner with Quality, Engineering, and
Manufacturing to elevate inspection capability and throughput.
Maintain calibration and verification of CMM equipment and related
tooling. Contribute to internal and customer audits; enforce AS9100
and customer quality requirements. What You’ll Need 3 years of CMM
programming and operation in a machining environment. Strong
command of GD&T per ASME Y14.5. Hands-on experience with
tight-tolerance aerospace parts. Proficiency in PC-DMIS, Calypso,
or comparable CMM software. Ability to interpret complex drawings
and 3D models. Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 systems;
meticulous documentation skills. Great-to-Haves Direct aerospace
manufacturing experience. Background in CNC machining or
manufacturing engineering. Talent for troubleshooting measurement
issues and optimizing program performance. Why Join Direct-hire
position in a stable aerospace environment. Clean, organized, and
quality-driven shop floor. Competitive compensation based on
experience. Room to grow within quality and inspection career
paths.
