Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Neuro PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: Ongoing - Up to 12.00 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Per Diem We are seeking a compassionate and high-performing Registered Nurse (RN) to join a 30-bed Neuro Stroke Stepdown Unit on a per diem basis in Chicago, IL. This unit specializes in caring for post-stroke and neurointerventional patients in a stepdown or COU (Clinical Observation Unit) setting. Ideal candidates will be confident in managing patients with neurological deficits and committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. /n/n/nKey Responsibilities:/n/n /n/t - /n/t Provide direct nursing care to patients in a neuro stepdown/telemetry setting /n/t /n/t - /n/t Monitor and manage post-stroke and post-neurointerventional patients /n/t /n/t - /n/t Perform and interpret EKGs, assess neuro changes, and communicate changes in condition promptly /n/t /n/t - /n/t Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to deliver safe and effective care /n/t /n/t - /n/t Document all care accurately using EPIC EMR /n/t /n/t - /n/t Administer medications, monitor telemetry, and manage equipment as needed /n/t /n/t - /n/t Collaborate with neurologists, rehab teams, and care coordinators to optimize patient recovery /n/t /n/t - /n/t Float to similar units as needed (e.g., Telemetry, Stepdown) /n/t /n /n/n/nRequirements:/n/n /n/t - /n/t Active Illinois RN license (Required) /n/t /n/t - /n/t BLS and ACLS certification (AHA – Required) /n/t /n/t - /n/t NIHSS certification (Required) /n/t /n/t - /n/t Proficiency in EPIC EMR (Required) /n/t /n/t - /n/t Ability to perform EKGs independently (Required) /n/t /n/t - /n/t Minimum 1 year of experience in a stepdown or neuro/tele unit (Preferred) /n/t /n/t - /n/t Strong neuro assessment skills and critical thinking required /n/t /n Sable Corporation Job ID 2025-95.
